Adrenalin

We had planned to do Spinnaker Cup turn and burn. But due to the upwind wind forecast, we did our own qualifier on the same day/night instead. Departed the boat's Richmond home dock at 09:25 Saturday 5/23 with all 8 crew members who are registered for Pac Cup: Mark Howe, Laura Parent, Krysia Pohl, Jenn Virskus, Marcos McGee, Scott Watkins, Sam Normington, and Dave Monk. We motored 20 minutes then set sails and sailed upwind out the Bay and alonside the main ship channel. We used 240*M as our heading since it is the heading to Hawaii. Engaged in several sail configuration changes. Sailed between North Farallon and Middle Farallon at around 13:45. Continued sailing out to sea until reaching just over 75 nm on our the active tracker. Turned around at Lat: 37*44.36'N / Long: 123*42.68'W. Time was 19:42. Continued under sail for the rest of the evening under A1 spinnaker. Took SE Farallon to port at approximately 01:49 on Sunday 5/24. Engaged in more sail changes throughout the early morning with wind shifts. Sailed under GGB at 06:10 under spinnaker. Sailed until the vicinity of Blossom Rock, then jibed and headed toward Richmond. Dropped spinnaker behind Angel Island then motored to the boat's dock in Point Richmond. Final tracker log stated the voyage distance of 151 nm.
